Saturday 6/28...

We had a VERY disappointing night out on the 5/8s track. Mike was doing AWESOME until about the 54th lap when a lapped car hit him, taking off the front of his car and ending his race night. Luckily we have 2 weeks until our next race to repair it. Still in 3rd for points though...still in it for the Championship! Pictures by Ryan...

Saturday 6/21...

Mike qualified 4th fast this weekend and got 2nd in his heat race. The main was CRAZY! Mike went off the track in the first lap (as a result of cars going 3 and 4 wide off the start line) and was sent to the back for causing a yellow. He avoided every wreck, which there were many and kept the car in one piece. After a late caution, causing a white/green/checkered, he ended up in 4th place. Still good finishing position. The announcers are always talking about how consistent he is and even call him the "silent assassin". Still going for that win and who knows, maybe the 5/8s will be it!

Saturday 6/7...

Given that it is June, it should have been sunny this past weekend...right? Not a chance! Its Junuary! We were all bundled up in long johns, jackets, hats and gloves at the race track. It was a cold, wet and slippery night. Mike qualified 8th fast and we only got a 4 car invert for the main, which means he started 8th. He got stuck behind some slower cars and just as he was making his way to the front, got plowed from behind and then from the front by the same car. He made it back out on the track after a quick pit stop (minus some body parts) and ended up 9th. Still in the running for the Championship - only 15 points behind 1st. He will get back up there. Next race is June 21st and Dino Rossi will be out throwing the flag! Hopefully the weather will start cooperating and we won't have to thaw out after the race!

Mike's cousin Alan got married this week...it was a good time! Congratulations to Alan and Stephanie and Welcome to the family!

Saturday 5/31...

Me doing all the work...what gives?Well, we ALMOST got our first win this past weekend. Mike raced so hard and held the lead for the entire second half of the race until the very last lap...so close! He said it was the most intense race he has ever been in. We truly have never been disappointed with 2nd place, but it was definitely a let down when he was so close to winning his first race and it was taken away. We will get 'em next time!

Unfortunately, Jeff didn't come out of the race as lucky. He was involved in a race ending wreck and had to be towed off. Hopefully his car will be up and running again in the next couple of weeks.

After the race we headed down to PIR to watch Rob race on Sunday...very exciting. He took the lead right off the start but spun out in the first turn. It was fun to watch him fly by everybody after that. Think he ended up with 4th place.
