Saturday 7/26...
Saturday was the Washington 500 and it was a LONG day! We got rained on briefly early in the day, but it cleared up and we had great racing weather. Mike qualified 7th fast and with the 12 car invert started pretty much where he qualified. It was a 150 lap main and Mike looked great for the first half or so. He was up to about 6th place, but around lap 100 started to fall off. We, up in the stands, figured something must have been wrong with his car. After finishing the race, we discovered he had a flat tire. He ended up in 8th position, which was great considering the tire issue. He is still in 3rd for points...just barely!

Our First Anniversary...
Mike surprised me with a trip to the Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop to celebrate our first anniversary. It was SO amazing! The views are stunning and we had the best time. I only wish we could have stayed a few more days!
On our way!
We stopped at the Ice Caves, but couldn't get there because the bridge was out...
Hiked down to Ross Lake Damn...it was windy!

Saturday 7/12...
Was an interesting race night! Mike qualified 8th fast with a 17.846 and with an 8 car invert, started the race on the poll position (1st place). He lead the first half of the race, in fact with a five car lead! A caution tightened up the field at that point. Soon after, the 2nd place car was catching up, got a little close coming out of turn #2 and spun Mike around causing him to hit the inside wall. Mike stayed out for the 3 counted caution laps then came into the pits for hood removal. He came back out and looked good, but the car started to overheat and he left the race with 5 or so laps remaining. So, we got last place...total bummer. Hopefully our luck is about to change!
